I've just revieved a vintage dress pattern that I had ordered in the mail today. I have never actually used a pattern when I've sewn things in the past, so it will be exciting to give it a go. I really love how versitile some of these patterns can be. It was very cheap like $6, which is always a plus for me. I can't wait to get started. It is always good to have a fun and new project.

Gardening
I was very pleased with my pin curl set this morning. Sometimes it just seems so hit or miss.
We had just gotten our plants and were very excited to start. Although the excitement fizzled after about 20 minutes when I had remembered how much work it really was.
On our way to our gardening shop my daughter had told me that she wanted a pink princess shovel (she calls it a shuggle) with matching gloves. I said "Honey, I doubt that they have that at our store." Well yeah it had just that actually. So I snatched it up in disbelief!
Here's my cutie pie with her shuggle!
We just planted the basics; tomatoes, cucumber, beans, onions, zucchini, chives, basil, mint, parsley, cilantro,
squash, and tried some watermelons.
....So yeah this whole row are different types of peppers. Not exactly my first choice but my husband loves peppers...especially pickled peppers.
It doesn't look like much now but after about a month you will see a huge difference. I am just glad that it is done! Yay!
We were extremely dirty and I kept feeling like there were little bugs all over me so we headed straight to the shower (there goes my perfectly pin curled hair). And here we are sitting in our new garden.

A New Lipstick to Try
Yay, another work day down and two more to go! I did finally receive that Ferman O'Grady dress in the mail only one problem...its HUGE! haha well I guess that is the risk we online shoppers take. Well I do love it and it is in great condition so what else is there to do but alter it myself. I will try not to rush it because I would feel so guilty if I screwed up such an old dress. I will take before and after pictures and post them soon. Anyways, I just got a new lipstick and it has become one of my favorites for daytime. Its a bit like a coral perhaps but not as orange.
It is Revlon's Pink About It. I bought mine on amazon for a great deal (I think around $6). It is nice to have a lipstick other then red. It is flashy yet subtle enough to wear to work. I think that coral is universally flattering on everyone!
I took these after work so that explains the sleepy eyes. So if you are in the market for a new lipstick I would recommend this one. Have a nice night!

Quick and Easy Projects for Rainy Days
This is the easiest thing in the world to create. It is just so satisfying when you can start a project and have it be done in 10 minutes. I just find that I get bored and lose interest in something that takes longer than an hour to make. Anyways I made this banner with some extra card stock I had and some bakers twine (yarn could easily replace the twine). Hope that you had a wonderful weekend. Now back to another work week, boo.

1940's Cardigan
New cardigan on. Its lovely and very soft. I wish I could get a better picture of it though. It's very challenging taking photographs of yourself. Next time my husband is around I will beg him to snap a few.
Anyway that is all for now. I think that my new dress should be arriving in the mail on Tuesday! I just can't wait to try it on.
Fun Flea Market Finds!
What a day we had yesterday. Started the day off by going to the local craft fair. I hate to say it but every year its the same thing and I always leave disappointed. There was however one booth who had some excellent vintage pottery. I found a set of white tea cups that I am kind of kicking my self for not buying. But oh well I had to make room for my bigger finds. We left there and started our long morning of yard sales (my favorite!).
My first find was a vintage 1940's cardigan. You can't tell from this picture but it is in the most excellent condition. Its made of lambs wool and angora rabbit fur. The inside is lined which as my friend Annie pointed out a sign of good quality. Its true you just don't see that kind of quality anymore.
My next find was a vintage silver tray, well it was silver before I painted it gold.
Next up a new chair for my computer desk. I found it and liked it and then fell in love with it after the man told me it was $7! What a deal! It originally had some older floral fabric but luckily I had some ikat fabric hanging around to cover it up. I really do love this chair. Its sturdy and old and the detail is beautiful.
I found these lanterns for $5! It was the last yard sale we went to and since I had some cash left over I thought why not. They are quite nice and the bottom unscrews to put tea lights inside.
My last and favorite find was this little bench for my daughter. It was originally white but on the way home we stopped at ace and I thought I'd pick up something to make it stand out. I think this yellow looks great on it. It was a pain in the butt to paint the little bird houses but they really make the bench quite charming.
Here is my sweet heart enjoying her new bench.
Well the yard sales kind of wiped me out and as a result I didn't get to work in the garden as much as I had hoped. Well I do have one more day off so who know I might muster up enough energy to at least plant some things.

New Ferman O'Grady dress
I Just bid and won on a 1950's Ferman O'Grady dress. I haven't recieved it in the mail yet but I am just thrilled. I found the exact same one on sell for 100.00 (I bought mine for less than a quarter of that!). Can't wait to see how it fits.
Here is a picture of the dress from the website that I puchased it from. It appears, in closer pictures, to be almost a peachy color but we shall see once it gets here. Well off to a busy weekend full of flea markets, gardening, and taking our little girl to the movies, yay!
